Text Box: Many years ago, one of my children looked innocently up at me and asked what I did for a living. "I write copy," I said. "Well," she asked, cocking her head to the side and frowning, "What is copy?  So I did my best to come up with an answer. Use it, if you wish, to respond to that same question from your children, or for the lady next to you at the dinner table, or to hand to that person who peers over his/her glasses at you and says "Now what exactly is it you do?"
